Why are the first steps uncomfortable?

Pain after rest, including the first steps in the morning, is common with plantar fasciitis. Other causes of heel pain should also be considered.

Is stretching the whole plan?

A plan may also consider activity demands, footwear, and appropriate strengthening. Exercise choices depend on your response.

Can I keep running?

Discuss your current symptoms and training load with your clinician. Some people need temporary changes to impact activity.

Make the program fit you.

The eight Foundations patterns organize movement choices. Accessory work and variations can be added around your condition, goals, equipment, and clinical findings. A condition name alone does not determine a safe program.

Background reading: AAOS: Plantar fasciitis. Exercise candidates also draw on the supplied Foundations working materials and require review.
