Cervicogenic Headaches

Cervicogenic headaches originate from dysfunction in the neck, often due to poor posture, joint restrictions, and muscle imbalances. These headaches typically present as one-sided pain that starts in the neck and radiates to the head, often worsening with neck movement or prolonged sitting. The primary treatment is chiropractic manipulation, which helps restore proper joint mobility and reduce nerve irritation. Complementary therapies include postural correction, deep neck flexor strengthening, stretching tight muscles (e.g., upper traps, pectorals, and scalenes), and Bruegger’s Stretch to relieve tension, activate stabilizing muscles, and support long-term relief.
